Projection
No statistical model we tested has beaten a simple no-change assumption on this series over the past 49 weeks of backtests, so gov.house does not publish a projection line here. What the history does tell us is how far the series usually moves:
| Over the next | Usual move (4 in 5 cases) | Range from today's 5.09 |
|---|---|---|
| 4 weeks | ±0.23 | 4.86 to 5.32 |
| 8 weeks | ±0.32 | 4.77 to 5.41 |
| 13 weeks | ±0.41 | 4.68 to 5.50 |
A statistical projection, not a prediction of policy and not investment advice. How the projections work.
About this data
Daily Treasury par yield curve rates for the 10-year, 2-year and 3-month maturities, as published by the Treasury Department.
What it measures
The interest rate the US government pays to borrow for three months, two years and ten years, read from the Treasury's daily par yield curve.
Why it matters
The 3-month yield tracks the Fed's policy rate; the 2-year reflects where markets think policy is heading; the 10-year is the anchor for mortgage rates and the government's own long-term borrowing costs, which feed straight into the deficit.
