gov.house is an independent publication about US government economic policy. Each article is a file: what the document actually says, what changed, what happens next, with the dates and numbers attached. The aim is simple. We read the rule, the bill, the statement and the data release so that readers who depend on them get the facts quickly and accurately.
gov.house is not a government website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or funded by the US government, any other government, any party or any campaign. The “.house” in the name is a domain name only.
§1Who runs it
gov.house is edited and published by Attila Rácz-Akácosi, an accredited journalist based in Hungary, in the European Union. Rácz-Akácosi is the site’s sole editor and is responsible for everything it publishes. You can also find the editor on LinkedIn.
§2Why from Europe
Decisions made in Washington set interest rates, trade terms and market conditions far beyond the United States. Covering them from the outside is a deliberate choice. An outsider has no team to root for in American party politics and no access to protect, only the documents and the data.
That shapes the method. gov.house is document-first: primary sources are read in full, linked in every file and quoted verbatim. Distance also helps with the questions an insider stops asking, such as what a rule actually requires or what a number actually measures.
§3What we cover
- The Fed: FOMC decisions, the rate outlook, the balance sheet and the independence of the central bank.
- Budget & Taxes: appropriations and shutdown deadlines, deficits and debt, the debt limit, tax law and the IRS.
- Trade & Tariffs: tariff actions and the legal authority behind each one, trade deals, refunds and the courts that review them.
- Jobs & Prices: the official data on employment, inflation, GDP and wages, and the household costs policy moves.
- Regulation: rules and enforcement from the SEC, CFTC, CFPB, bank regulators and FHFA, followed from proposal to final rule.
The Tracker follows a handful of live bills, rules and cases stage by stage, and The Brief newsletter delivers the essentials by email.
§4What we are not
- Not a government site and not a source of official notices. For official information, follow the source links in each file.
- Not investment, financial, tax or legal advice. gov.house is journalism. See the Terms of Service.
- Not partisan. Contested questions are presented with the strongest case on each side, and analysis is labeled as analysis.
§5Independence and funding
gov.house is self-funded by its publisher. It takes no government funding of any kind. There is no advertising, no sponsored content and no affiliate links. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on this page and in our Ethics & Standards. The site does not track visitors: no analytics, no ad cookies.
