These terms govern your use of gov.house (the “site”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
§1Who publishes this site
gov.house is an independent publication on US government economic policy. It is published and edited by Attila Rácz-Akácosi, an accredited journalist based in Hungary, in the European Union. In these terms, “we,” “us” and “the publisher” refer to Attila Rácz-Akácosi.
gov.house is not a government website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or funded by the US government, any other government, any political party or any campaign. The “.house” in the name is a domain name only.
§2Information only, not advice
Everything on the site is published for information and journalism. It is not investment, financial, tax or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or to take any other action.
- Articles describe government documents, data and decisions and offer analysis of them. They do not consider your personal circumstances.
- Policy, data and law change, sometimes quickly. An article reflects what was known on its publication or update date.
- Before making financial, tax or legal decisions, consult a qualified professional and the official sources themselves.
§3No warranty
We work to make the site accurate and correct errors promptly under our Corrections Policy. Even so, the site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability, to the extent permitted by law.
§4Copyright and how you may use our content
Unless stated otherwise, text, graphics and page design are © 2026 Attila Rácz-Akácosi. All rights reserved.
- Quoting is welcome. You may quote short excerpts for commentary, reporting, research or teaching, provided you name gov.house as the source and link to the original article.
- Republishing is not. Copying full articles or substantial parts of them, or systematically scraping the site to build a competing product or dataset, requires written permission. Ask through the contact form using the “Press & partnerships” subject.
- Government documents. Works of the US federal government quoted or linked on the site are generally in the public domain in the United States. Our own analysis, summaries, tables and selection of material remain our copyright.
- Third-party images and material are credited on the page and used under their own licenses. Those licenses, not these terms, govern your reuse of them.
§5External links
The site links to primary sources and other websites, including government agencies, courts and news organizations. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
§6Acceptable use of forms
The contact form and the newsletter sign-up are there to reach the editor and to receive The Brief. When you use them, you agree not to:
- submit false information or impersonate another person;
- send spam, advertising, malware or automated submissions;
- send unlawful, threatening or harassing content;
- attempt to interfere with the security or operation of the site.
We may ignore, delete or block submissions that break these rules. How we handle the personal data you send is described in the Privacy Policy.
§7News tips and submissions
Sending a tip or document does not create any obligation to publish it, credit you or pay you. We will treat it according to our Ethics & Standards, including our policy on anonymous sources. Do not send material you have no right to share.
§8Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, or for any loss of profits, investments or data, arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.
§9Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Hungary. Disputes will be heard by the competent courts of Hungary, except where mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence give you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
§10Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date and revision number. Changes apply from the effective date. Continued use of the site after that date means you accept the updated terms.
§11Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact form, choosing the subject “Other.”
